DJ Info - Questions & Answers
|
We plan to answer most (if not all) of your questions
here. If you have another please get in touch.
- How long is my membership for?
The period of membership to The Alliance of Mobile & Party
DJs is for 12 months. At the end of that time you can choose to
extend or cancel your membership
-
How much does Membership to Alliance of Mobile & Party DJs cost and what does
it include?
Memberships costs £49 per year. This includes £10 million Public and Product
Liability plus registration for receiving enquiries from one area.
- How can you offer membership at such a low price and include PLI too?
We've negotiated a great deal with the Insurance Company for our members
We have choosen to pass on this great deal to our members and not add a
disproportionate mark-up to the membership
Our specifically designed system to manage members requires only a small
amount of human resource - keeping costs down
We believe all Mobile DJs should have PLI. Membership has been priced at a
level which makes this possible
- Can I cancel my membership?
If you cancel within the first 7 days you will receive a
full refund. No refunds will be made after this 7 day
'opt-out' period.
- Will I receive a PLI Certificate?
Yes - you will able to print off your documents from within
the DJ Login Area.
- How do I receive the enquiries?
After your account is activated you will automatically
receive all enquiries submitted for your chosen area(s) by
email.
- The area I want is not currently available - can I still
join?
This happens when an area/County reaches its threshold of
members for enquiries. Yes you can still join by selecting
the 'No Area Selected' option. We will also inform you when
a vacancy arises for your area.
- I would like to receive extra enquiries but I already
have PLI or I don't meet the conditions for PLI
You can join the associate site
here
where PLI is not included with membership.
- What can I expect in the way of extra disco enquiries?
We can't put a figure on it but hopefully lots of them! We
are using a tried, tested and proven system - unique in the
UK, however we won't make any false, exaggerated or
misleading claims. We also believe that we are offering the
best deal for DJ PLI in the Country and gaining enquiries on
the top of this is an added bonus.
- I don't have a credit card or PayPal account - can I
still join?
Yes you can. Your account will be manually activated once
payment is received. Contact us
here for further
information.
-
Can I select more than one area?
Your initial membership fee includes one area. Additional areas can be added at
a cost of £18 per area.
-
Can I add extra areas to my subscription later in the year?
Yes. If you decide you want extra areas at a later date you can log in and add
these to your subscription. You will only be charged a percentage for that
extra area, relative to your remaining membership term.
-
What does the PLI cover?
This policy covers legal liability to pay compensation in respect of accidental
bodily injury or accidental damage to Third Party Property see full details
here.
-
Why do I need PLI?
Many venues insist that any 3rd party contractors (such as DJs) who work at
their premises have their own liability cover. If you cause damage to
property or if your equipment injures a guest or member of staff, you could
be liable. PLI covers you for these eventualities.
-
How do I get PLI?
Fill in the application form
here. Pay the appropriate fee and you are covered
from immediate effect.
-
How do I prove I have PLI cover?
After joining, and paying the appropriate fee, you will be able to download a
temporary certificate which covers you for the period during which you can
cancel your membership for a full refund. After 7 days, you can log on and
print off your PLI Certificate which will contain your name, address and
policy number. In addition, you can add a PLI validation button to your
website. Clients and venues will be able to confirm your current PLI cover
at any time.
-
Is my Roadie covered under my PLI Policy?
Only the named DJ is insured. This policy does not cover a person employed by
you (whether paid or voluntary)
-
If other DJs work for me under my disco name, are they insured by my policy?
No - the policy is for the named individual and not a company. You can insure
additional members of your team using the application form and selecting a
different area for each DJ. For example, if you have 3 DJs working for your
company, each member is registered for a different area but using your disco
name and email address, so all enquiries for those 3 areas will still come
to you, and each member is insured in their own right.
If you only want to cover one area for all your DJs contact us.
- Is there an age limit for this PLI Policy?
No
- Is my equipment insured under this policy?
No. PLI only covers claims made against you in respect of damage to property
and persons where you have used your equipment.
Our insurance broker does give a discount on equipment insurance for AMPdj
members.
- If I hire out my equipment as dry hire, is my PLI still valid?
Yes. This policy covers dry hire also - see
here.
